Builders Transportation Company, a Memphis, Tenn.-based flatbed carrier, announced a percentage-based pay program for company drivers.

This program, which is a voluntary pay option, gives experienced drivers the opportunity to make up to 27%. After completing training, student drivers will start at 24% then increase to 25% at 6 months and 1% a year until they reach 27%. The CSA bonus pays 2% of revenue for revenues over $3,750 and 3% for revenue over $4,250.

The company also offers a quarterly bonus program based on safety, service and fuel mileage. The average quarterly bonus is $1,250.

"Freight rates are increasing so this is an ideal time to convert our mileage-based drivers to percentage," says Dwight Bassett, BTC CFO. "We are so sure that our drivers are will earn more under this percentage program that for the first four weeks BTC will pay the difference between percentage and mileage if mileage pay is more."
