Ryder System Inc. announced the promotions of Robert E. Sanchez to the position of president and chief operating officer and Dennis C. Cooke to president of global fleet management solutions.

Sanchez will continue to report to Ryder chairman and CEO Gregory Swienton, and will be responsible for the general management of all business operations of Ryder's two business segments, fleet management solutions and supply chain solutions.

Sanchez served most recently as president of global fleet management solutions, Ryder's largest business segment, and has been a member of the company's executive leadership team since 2003. Over the course of an 18-year Ryder career, he has held a broad range of leadership positions for the corporation and both business segments.

Cooke will report to Sanchez and will be responsible for leading all areas of global business operations. Cooke most recently served as senior vice president, chief of operations for FMS in the U.S. and Canada.

Cooke joined Ryder in 2011, following a 22-year career with GE and related companies. At GE, he held positions of increasing responsibility with GE Healthcare and GE Security's Homeland Protection business.
