FedEx Corp. will expanding the availability of its SenseAware service, which gives customers near real-time tracking and increased visibility into their shipments.


The service, announced in 2009, was initially available to customers in the healthcare and life sciences industries. Now it is available to customers in all industries.

SenseAware is a comprehensive tracking service that provides near real-time data about customer shipments such as:
-The shipment's current location
-Accurate temperature readings
-When a shipment is opened or if the contents have been exposed to light
-Relative humidity and barometric pressure readings

The SenseAware device, which is activated and placed in the package before shipping, can be used for single shipments or with large palletized shipments.
