Sue Whitworth, Heather McKenna and Steve Fuller have been named Landstar's Employees of the Year for 2011.


The three were chosen as the best of the best among the 36 Employees of the Month selected during 2011 from Landstar's service centers in Jacksonville, Florida, Rockford, Illinois, and Southfield, Michigan.

The Jacksonville service center's Employee of the Year is Sue Whitworth, a senior travel counselor in the Corporate Communications department. She has been with Landstar since June of 2002. Whitworth was recognized for her vast experience in and knowledge of travel services, outstanding customer service skills and her ability to meet and exceed the very time sensitive demands of her job.

The Rockford service center's Employee of the Year is Heather McKenna, a loss prevention coordinator in the Safety Services department. She has been with Landstar since November of 2004. McKenna was nominated for her professionalism and compassion when dealing with others, outstanding customer service skills and dedication to safety.

Steve Fuller is the Southfield service center Employee of the Year. He is a supervisor in the Specialized Operations department. Fuller joined the company in January of 1997 and was recognized for his excellent work ethic and vast job knowledge.

Landstar Chairman, President and CEO Henry Gerkens commended all the 2011 Employees of the Year for their outstanding service to the company.

"Each year it gives me great pride to showcase those in our company who have demonstrated the talent, hard work and dedication worthy of this honor," said Gerkens. "The 2011 Employees of the Year are without doubt deserving of this recognition and I congratulate them on their accomplishments."
