Specialized heavy hauler Emmert International, Portland, Ore., has purchased the Super Heavy Haul Division of Trism Transportation, located outside of Houston.

The purchase, for an undisclosed amount, included Trism's specialized super heavy haul truck and trailer fleets. The truck fleet includes late model four-axle Freightliner prime movers with three-axle rear drives. The trailer fleet includes two-, three-, and four-axle removable goosenecks, various multiple axle trailers and 13-axle Trail King specialized steering trailers.
In addition to the equipment, Emmert secured a long-term lease on a new facility located on 5 acres in Danbury, Texas. Also, Emmert International retained nearly all of the former Trism employees located in Danbury, including Michael Davenport, who currently manages the Texas operation.
Emmert International, formed in 1968, holds world records for heavy hauling, including one for moving the largest hotel in the world on wheels and one for hauling a nuclear steam generator more than 2700 miles.
