Marten Transport has announced a 2¢ per mile driver pay increase after releasing its second quarter results reflecting a $1.6 million increase in net income over the same period in 1996.
The Mondovi, WI-based company also reported 1997 second quarter operating income of $4.1 million, versus $1.4 million for the second quarter of 1996.
“This is a prime example of how a company’s profitability is directly linked to improving driver wages,” said Jack Ziebarth, Marten’s manager of recruiting services.
