The Private Fleet Management Institute, an education and professional certification arm of the National Private Truck Council, has changed its name to the Institute for Truck Transportation Management.

"The name has been changed to better reflect the breadth and depth of the institute's educational and research offerings, which have proven useful to people in all parts of the trucking industry, including dedicated contract carriers," said NPTC President John McQuaid.
ITTM was created ten years ago and now offers a comprehensive Certified Transportation Professional program for fleet managers. The Institute also produces the Cost-Per-Mile Quarterly Index for private fleet benchmarking, and the Driver Compensation Analysis study. It offers a 6-day Fleet/Transportation Management Institute, home study programs, and 1-day regional educational seminars on current topics of interest to private fleet managers such as fleet economics and outsourcing alternatives.
