Mack Trucks will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a year-long schedule of activities.

A traveling historical exhibit, housed in a trailer pulled by the new Mack Vision highway tractor, has already been introduced to Mack employees and their communities in Lehigh Valley, PA; Hagerstown, MD; and Winnsboro, SC. It will be on display at the Feb. 21-24 World of Concrete show in Orlando then begin a schedule of appearances at community events, schools, Mack dealerships and Mack facilities throughout North America.
A weekend of open houses is planned for June 17-18 at the company's major facilities and at Mack dealerships. The open house at Mack's Macungie plant coincides with the Antique Truck Club of America's annual show to be held at Macungie Memorial Park.
A special event is being organized in New York City to commemorate the sale of the Mack brothers' first motorized vehicle, a chain-driven, 20-passenger sightseeing bus that was hand built in a Brooklyn wagon shop.
Other activities include employee celebrations at all major facilities; sponsorship of the American Truck Historical Society's annual convention May 25-28 in Valley Forge, PA; and a special VIP Centennial reception at the U.S. Senior Open golf championship to be held June 26 in Bethlehem, PA.
Mack recently published a 175-page photographic history of the Mack truck. Special editions of "Mack: Driven for a Century" are available at company stores and online at www.macktrucks.com/mackshop. Standard editions are available from most retail booksellers.
