Burlington Motor Carriers, Daleville, IN, has celebrated the third anniversary of its acquisition by an investment group led by Thomas F. Grojean in 1996. Since then, the company has grown over 30 percent to nearly $300 million by adding capacity to its own fleet and making three acquisitions - PALS Express, Calumet City, IN; Jolliff Transportation, Peoria, IL; and Southwestern Freight Carriers, Rutherfordton, NC.

Other company developments include a major upgrade of its company-owned fleet of tractors - now entirely comprised of well-appointed conventional power units with an average age of less than two years - and capital investments in such technological areas as network modeling and optimization, e-commerce and document scanning.
