GM Improves Commercial Truck Service

GM Goodwrench Fleet Service is a new program providing improved service and maintenance work for GM's commercial customers.
The program, which goes into effect Oct. 1, offers commercial customers new and improved services, including extended weeknight and weekend service hours, dedicated service advisors for commercial customers, two-hour maximum diagnoses, consolidated record keeping, centralized billing, an optional fuel and maintenance card, and up-front pricing.
Certified technicians will use genuine GM parts for service and maintenance work on commercial GM vehicles. The program is not limited to GM vehicles. For customers with mixed fleets, dealers will carry Ford, DaimlerChrysler and import parts to service other makes of commercial vehicles.
To become a GM Goodwrench Fleet Service dealer, commercial truck dealers must agree to meet a certain level of commitment to customer satisfaction and follow-up. Certification must be re-evaluated every six months. By enrolling in GM Goodwrench Fleet Service, dealers are in a position to expand their service and parts business, note GM officials, saying that more than 2/3 of dealer profits typically come from parts and service.
GM Goodwrench Fleet Service dealers are backed by national advertising and marketing support from GM, including direct mail programs, a toll-free customer referral line, inclusion in the dealer locator on the GM Parts web site, and retention analysis.
