The governor of California has signed into law a budget that will mean a significant reduction in truck licensing fees.

The state Legislature passed a 25% reduction in vehicle license fees for trucks that did not qualify for last year's reduction, which applied to owners of cars, pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles.
"We had been pursuing equality this year with AB 852, but because the conference committee saw the need for fairness, the VLF cut for trucks was placed in the budget bill," says Joel Anderson, executive vice president of the California Trucking Assn.
"This year, the car tax is being cut by the legislature even more. We're glad they saw fit to include large trucks as part of the package this year."
