Sept. 14 – The Arkansas Highway Department has told state patrol officers to start enforcing a regulation that trailers more than 53 feet, 6 inches in length carry overdimensional “long load” markings.
Up until now, the regulation has not been enforced against 57-foot trailers. The Arkansas Motor Carrier Assn. is against longer trailers, and says fines can be up to $200 for each county traveled.
