Avoid Interstate 5 in Olympia the Next 2 Weekends

A bridge structural repair near Olympia, Wash. over the next two weekends is expected to cause traffic problems due to ramp and lane closures. The Washington Department of Transportation is warning drivers to avoid the Interstate 5 in Olympia if possible.

Work to install the new permanent span for the Interstate 5 Skagit River Bridge in Burlington, Wash., is officially underway, but new delays and detours will happen again in a few weeks.

Section of I-5 Reopens in Los Angeles

The California State Highway Patrol says all lanes along Interstate 5 have reopened in both directions at the state route 2 interchange following a truck crash and fire Saturday that shut them down.

I-5 Bridge Set to Reopen in Mid-June with Temporary Fix

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee has announced a plan to replace the collapsed portion of the Interstate 5 bridge over the Skagit River near Mt. Vernon after it was damaged by a truck hauling an oversize load on Thursday, closing a section of the route.

I-5 Bridge Partially Collapses in Washington State

UPDATED -- A bridge along Interstate 5 in Washington state partially collapsed Thursday evening, closing part of the route. Authorities are blaming it on a truck pulling an oversize load but the company says it has the proper permit to use the route.
