NACFE Shows Downspeeding Good for 2-3% Fuel Savings

A new report delves into the use of downspeeding, which is becoming a popular fuel saving strategy for fleets. The concept makes use of numerically lower rear-axle ratios to lower engine rpm at vehicle cruise speed.

EPA Has Big Ambitions for New Heavy Duty Fuel Economy Standards

The Environmental Protection Agency is more ambitious for the next phase of its heavy-duty truck fuel economy standards than it was for the first, and will look at trailers as well as new engine and transmission technologies.
