Four-Wheelers Less Concerned Than Before Over Dangerous Driving Behaviors

The number of people who believe that texting or emailing while driving is a very serious threat declined from 87% in 2009 to 81% in 2012.

According to a new survey from AAA, Americans are less likely than they used to be to perceive a serious threat from dangerous driving behaviors such as drunk, aggressive or drowsy driving.

Study: Most Distracted CV Drivers Are Distracted During Risky Maneuvers

The top 5% distracted drivers of commercial vehicles are distracted 79% of the time during risky driving maneuver. That's nearly six times more often than the rest of the drivers, according to the initial results of the SmartDrive Distracted Driving Index study, which explores the distracted driving rate of commercial fleets.

Hands-Free Texting Isn’t Safer According to New Study

Using a handheld phone for texting is equally dangerous whether you do it manually or with voice-to-text, according to new research.

Efforts by federal officials prohibiting all interstate and haz-mat truckers from texting while driving, along with many state having such laws for all drivers, may do little for safety on the roadway, based on new research.
