Southern California truck drivers and warehouse workers who serve the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach once again went on strike on June 19, protesting poor wages and labor practices.

Federal Court Rules Against XPO in Driver Misclassification Case

A federal district court judge has issued a judgment in favor of five port and rail truck drivers against XPO Cartage in a driver misclassification lawsuit, awarding the drivers nearly $1 million in reimbursement and legal fees.

An investigation by the U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division resulted in the restoration of $1,979,779 in 401(k) pension benefits to 515 drivers working on U.S. Postal Service contracts for California-based Lange Trucking.

New Prime Fined by OSHA for Retaliating Against Trucker

Two Truckers Awarded $302,000 for Wrongful Termination

Under terms of a consent judgment, a now defunct North Canton, Ohio-based carrier, Star Air, and owner Robert R. Custer, will pay two Ohio truck drivers $302,000 to resolve a lawsuit filed by the U.S. Department of Labor for terminating two of the company's drivers in violation of federal whistleblower provisions.
