Las Vegas -- Maxion Wheels is extending its product portfolio to include forged aluminum wheels, Donald Polk, president of Maxion Wheels, Americas, announced at a press conference during Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week in Las Vegas.

The wheels will meet or exceed current industry market specs and will be made available initially in the aftermarket beginning this spring.

“We are seeing a movement in the market to more applications using aluminum wheels either for appearance reasons or because of their lighter weight,” Polk said.

“Maxion Wheels has been proudly serving the needs of the North American truck and trailer market for almost 100 years,” said Polk. “By adding forged aluminum to our product mix, our steel wheel commercial vehicle customers now have a one-stop alternative for their wheel needs.”

The hub piloted wheel will be available in four sizes initials beginning with the 22.5x 8.25 model that weighs 45 pounds. Other product line offerings will be: 24.5x8.25, 17.5x6.75, and 22.5x14.00

A bright machined finish is standard, and polishing is also available. The wheels come with a five-year warranty.

While initially offered to the aftermarket, the company said as the roll out continues they will be in discussion with truck OEMs.
