Truck and trailer parts distributor FleetPride has named Allan R. Dragone its new president and chief executive officer, effective immediately.

Dragone was previously the CEO of Unisource and has 35 years of experience in the distribution and retail industry.  He began his career with Champion International in 1978 and served in various roles, including vice president of sales and marketing for International and Newsprint.

"Al has extensive experience as a CEO and a great track record in growing businesses, improving operations, identifying sales force efficiencies, and building cross-functional teams to their fullest potential," said a company spokesperson. "Following Don's previous leadership, Al will be focused on driving differentiation of FleetPride in the market and positioning the Company for the future."

Dragone will take over for Donald W. Sturdivant, who moved into the CEO slot after serving as a board member at FleetPride. Sturdivant will continue to serve on the board through the transition process.

Dragone has an undergraduate degree from Middlebury College and an MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.

"I am very excited about this opportunity and look forward to working with the talented management team to build upon the supply chain, operational, and commercial excellence achieved thus far,” said Dragone. “FleetPride is focused on the right priorities and has a strong foundation for future growth."
