Major League Baseball executive Billy Beane, the subject of Michael Lewis' bestselling book "Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game" and the Oscar-award-winning film "Moneyball," will headline Qualcomm's Vision 2012 Management Conference, June 4-7 in San Diego.

The conference features the theme "A Whole New Ballgame."

Beane's keynote presentation will complement that of Annette Sandberg, Esq., CEO of TransSafe Consulting and former Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration administrator, and Richard Stocking, president and chief operating officer of Swift Transportation Company.

Peer-to-peer networking discussions; hands-on Qualcomm technology and partner demonstrations; and customer-led breakout sessions are also components of the conference. Topics include driver safety, compliance, hours of service, fuel optimization strategies, enterprise connectivity, predictive analytics, operational visibility and fleet management.

"Faced with unprecedented challenges ranging from safety and compliance to driver retention and recruitment, today's fleet operators need to be smarter and more nimble than ever before," says Norm Ellis, vice president of sales, services and marketing for Qualcomm Enterprise Services. "Vision 2012 will provide attendees unique access to an elite group of visionaries, thought leaders and resources, all of which, we expect, will help enhance fleet executives' understanding of how to leverage mobile-based information and business intelligence to be successful in an increasingly competitive and dynamic industry."
