Arkansas-based ABF Freight System will participate in the 14th Annual National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, on Nov. 1-7, 2009.
With the campaign, "ABF Employees: Turning Challenges Into Opportunities," the company hopes to focus on the role of transportation industry employees in supporting the North American economy.

"This campaign recognizes the professional drivers of ABF as well as the valuable contribution of all ABF employees whose dedication to safety, cargo handling and customer service inspires confidence among customers throughout North America," said Wes Kemp, ABF president and chief operating officer.

As part of the campaign, ABF will send a special letter of appreciation to its employees, and the company's service centers will host special events. According to ABF, it recognizes its employees throughout the year, with training and incentive programs.
NTDAW celebrates the 3.5 million professional truck drivers delivering life's essentials across the country everyday.

"Professional truck drivers are more essential to the national economy than ever before, and they're delivering their loads safely and professionally," the ATA said.
