CRST International, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has been listed on the 2008 InformationWeek 500.

CRST was chosen for the list based on the technology used to create its new data warehouse, which provides managers the ability to track KPI's, obtain more detailed reporting, and spot trends as they start.

In addition, CRST created a Web-based on-target tracking system, which allows clients to track a load online the same way an individual tracks a package. The company also implemented a Cisco Unified Communication System, which integrates all communications (Blackberry, voice, data, etc.), allowing for more reliable and higher quality voice/data capabilities. A redesign of its data network has increased efficiency and created a more secure network, and by electronically tracking truck maintenance, the company is able to schedule outine maintenance, and address equipment issues better.

CRST, at No. 184, is one of only four Iowa companies to be listed.

InformationWeek identifies and honors the nation's innovative users of information technology with its annual listing, and has tracked the technology, strategies, investments and administrative practices of America's companies.
