The Alamo Travel Center in Reno/Sparks, Nev., will be transformed into a giant drive-in movie theater for big rigs only on Sept. 29.

The occasion is the premier of the movie "Joy Ride." Twentieth Century Fox describes the movie this way: "Mixing terror, thrills and laughs, the film is the story of three young people on a cross-country road trip, who play a practical joke on a lonely trucker over a CB radio. The trucker, an unseen and terrifying force known only by his handle 'Rusty Nail,' wants the last laugh ... and revenge."
Professional trucker Susan Hawk, known for her role on the first season of CBSs' "Survivor" will serve as host and master of ceremonies. Organizers are expecting more than 500 trucker attendees, Sparks and Reno civic leaders and local and Hollywood VIPs to watch "Joy Ride" on a giant 60-by-30-foot screen, starting at 7 p.m.
In addition to the screening, the event will feature a performance by the trucker band White Line Fever, a "Miss Mudflap Beauty Contest," and special movie memorabilia giveaways.
