This year's Parade of Lights at the Richard Crane Memorial Truck Show in St. Ignace, Mich., will be dedicated to Ruth Jones, NAST member and Senior Editor at LandLine Magazine, who died June 8 after a long battle with cancer.

The Parade of Lights on Sept. 15 is one of the high points of the annual truck show, which this year runs from Sept. 14-16. For the past three years, TravelCenters of America's Road King magazine has sponsored the parade across the Mackinac Straits Bridge.
Ruth was an avid member of the National Association of Show Trucks, which sanctions the event. Between reporting assignments at truck shows, she laid aside her pen and pad to help her husband, Dee, prepare their Freightliner company show truck, "Lost in the '50s," for competition. Dee drives for All Freight Systems of Kansas City, Kan., and has been invited to lead the parade.
The St. Ignace show has grown in five years from a handful of trucks to more than 140 vehicles from the U.S. and Canada last year. Held on the southern tip of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, it draws thousands of spectators, and many more watch the parade as it crosses the bridge and circles through Mackinac City and back.
