The Truckload Carriers Assn. will hold its first driver job fair in conjunction with its annual meeting in April.
The job fair will be held Tuesday, April 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio.
The job fair is spearheaded by TCA's Driver Recruitment and Retention Management Panel. "The industry's traditional source of drivers can no longer meet our needs, and it was time for us to recognize that fact," said panel chairman Ronnie Dowdy, president of Arkansas-based Ronnie Dowdy Inc.
The fair is being held with the help of the National Council of La Raza, a national Latino/Hispanic organization, and SER Job for Progress Inc., a provider of employment services through the Texas Workforce Center in San Antonio.
