The 11th annual Mother’s Day Convoy, which benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Susquehanna Valley in south-central Pennsylvania, has been scheduled for May 14 at the Burle Industries parking lot on Route 23, east of Lancaster.

Each Mother’s Day, truckers show their generosity by donating their time and money to the cause. Last year’s event raised $250,000 for the foundation, as more than 400 truckers drove in the convoy, which stretched 26 miles though the farmlands of Lancaster County.
Several drivers have already volunteered to participate in this year’s convoy, in which children with life-threatening illnesses get the chance to momentarily forget about the doctors and hospitals when they spend a fun-filled day riding in a big rig.
Drivers interest in participating can register until May 5, 2000 by contacting Deb Caldwell at (717) 871-1037 or the Lancaster County Make-A-Wish office at (888) 367-8575.
