This Saturday, Oct. 30, Knights of the Road Foundation will hold its 1999 East Coast Truck Rodeo & Jamboree Halloween Bash fund-raiser at Big Charlie's Truck Plaza on Route 13 (Northampton Blvd.) in Virginia Beach, VA.

The Foundation is a nonprofit organization that offers help to the spouses and families of truck drivers who have died or been disabled. The group offers a family relief fund, a scholarship fund for the education of minor children, and a re-education fund for disabled truckers or spouses left behind.
The event will feature a dunk tank for a DOT official. Entry in the truck beauty contest and driver roadeo is included in the $20 ticket, with cash prizes provided by the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Assn. Those wishing to enter the contest should plan to arrive by 7 a.m.
Gates for the general public will open at 9:30 a.m., and the driver competitions will begin at 10. Activities include country music, a karate demonstration, a "Lil' Miss Knights of the Road" beauty pageant for girls ages 6-8 and a concert by Marty Stuart and his Rock & Roll Cowboys.
Local radio station WCMS will be broadcasting live from the site all day.
