SmartStop’s new contactless “smart card” can be used for just about anything drivers need at a participating truckstop: automatic fueling, c-store and restaurant purchases, making phone calls, participating in loyalty programs, and receiving cash advances.
The card has a computer chip in it, so applications can be added, deleted, changed or expanded easily. It helps reduce costs for doing business at truckstops, offers accurate and fast transmittal of driver information, helps control fraud and makes it easy to implement and track loyalty programs.
For fueling, there is a separate smart card that is mounted at the fuel tank inlet. The card communicates with antennas at the pump, which communicates with the controlling computer. This results in simplified, accurate information flowing between the driver and the fuel desk.
