Around The Clock Freightliner Group, known as ATC, is building two new Freightliner truck dealerships in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, reports the Dallas Business Journal.

ATC, based in Oklahoma City, will start construction in late spring on a 22-acre dealership near the intersection of Interstates 20 and 35 in Lancaster, outside of Dallas. The $6 million facility will run upward of 75,000 square feet and will employ 175 people. ATC wants it open by the first quarter of 2000. It will sit on 49 acres. Initially, only 22 acres will be developed. The rest will sit idle until the dealership needs more growing room.
The company is also putting up a 10-acre facility in north Fort Worth near I-35. It will be 75,000 square feet, will cost $4.5 million and is slated to open by late March.
One of the biggest Freightliner dealers in the country, ATC has existing Freightliner franchises in Oklahoma and North Texas, including one each in Dallas and Fort Worth. ATC’s existing location in Dallas will stay open. In Fort Worth, ATC will move to the new dealership now under construction from a 17,000-square-foot facility near downtown.
The new locations are a move by ATC to expand its presence in the area, an increasingly important distribution hub for freight.
