There is growing discontent with the American Trucking Assn.’s reorganization plans. Three state trucking association directors have told RoadStar the Wren Plan, designed to get the organization back on track, is in trouble.
The ATA angered many state associations last month when it sent a letter to state associations demanding they meet membership recruitment quotas or face disaffiliation from the ATA. Although the ATA later dropped that effort and issued an apology, it left a bad taste in many state affiliates’ mouths.
At least 16 of the state associations will attend a meeting with ATA officials to discuss the reorganization.
