GotQuestions? Lubricants

Q. I am wondering if you can tell me what the estimated miles per gallon are for a truck using the CITGARD®SynDurance® 5W-40?

I am trying to make a comparison to show the cost savings per truck annually when using this particular product versus a conventional motor oil such as Shell Rotella 15W-40. It is my understanding that with the SynDurance, there is a fuel savings of about 2 to 5% due to reduced engine friction - is that accurate?

A. Typically the range has been from 1-3% depending on type of fleet. With current diesel fuel prices that can yield an annual savings of up to $1500 or more annually in fuel savings. It is also important to know that a full synthetic 5W40 heavy duty engine can improve oil cold flow as much as 35 to 40 degrees below that of a typical 15W-40 engine oil which improved cold start wear protection, save fuel and extends batter and starter life while reducing greenhouse gases with improved fuel economy.
