A. Grease is often given the least attention, and has been described by many fleet managers as the weak link in establishing maintenance schedules. Today’s fleets have steadily extended re-lubrication schedules. This, combined with more corrosive anti-icing agents and the demand for higher productivity, has placed grease lubrication at risk.

Discriminating fleet managers have discovered that by selecting high-performance, longer-lasting grease, they have been able to not only safely extend the re-lubrication schedule, but also significantly extend component life.

The trap that maintenance programs often fall into is that “any grease will work if I see my truck often enough.” It is true that the more frequently re-lubrication occurs, the more the fleet manager can compensate for average performing products.

It is highly recommended to consult with your grease products supplier to learn about products that can go far beyond typical expectations.
