A truckstop waitress in Nebraska was able to take her kids to the state fair and catch up on all her bills, thanks to a generous trucker who tipped her $1,000.
When Kari Anthony, a bartender at Quaker Steak and Lube in Grand Island, started her shift, the trucker was already sitting at the bar, according to Omaha.com. He was staying the night at the Bosselman truck stop, where Quaker Steak and Lube is located, off Interstate 80 at the U.S. Highway 281 junction.
As will happen with bartenders and customers, the two struck up a conversation. They talked about her three kids, about her home state of Tennessee, and about the importance of family.
Despite both Anthony and her manager trying to talk the driver out of his $1,000 tip, he stood fast, and told her to do something good for her kids with the money.
