AppsFX, a provider of BlackBerry Smartphone applications, launched LifeSAVER Enterprise, an enhanced version of its popular LifeSAVER distracted driving software.

This release provides fleet and risk managers a powerful, automated solution to help combat the growing risk and liability caused by distracted drivers, the company said.

LifeSAVER Enterprise uses GPS to determine the speed of the vehicle. Based on a pre-set speed, for example, 5 mph, LSE assumes control of the phone and eliminates the ability to use it except in a 911 emergency. Phone use is then returned once the vehicle comes to a stop.

LifeSAVER Enterprise also gives business owners and fleet managers the ability to monitor and receive automated reports based on criteria like hours of service, vehicle speed, vehicle/device location, GPS signal health and device battery strength. LSE can also take into consideration device use by employees who are riding as passengers, and phone usage options during non-work hours.
