Citgo says its new synthetic OverDrive HD Grease stays put and provides superior performance to protect engine parts, even under a wide variety of conditions.

With engine oil drain and relubrication intervals being extended, heavy duty power units require grease that can match the longer service intervals.

OverDrive HD Grease has a full synthetic ISO 460 base oil, combining full PAO synthetic base oil with patented polymer technology. The heavier base oil combined with the polymer produces better water washout, staying power and wide temperature protection.

Many greases designed for severe performance have been reported to pump as low as 2 grams per minute at zero degrees, indicating significant compromise in pumpability in achieving staying power, according to Citgo. OverDrive HD Grease pumps 36.5 grams per minute at zero degrees.

Other performance attributes include:

* Corrosion protection: OverDrive HD passes the Emcor Dynamic Corrosion Test and the 5% Salt Water Corrosion Test, in addition to passing the standard ASTM D-1743 Corrosion Test.

* Stays in place: The grease is polymer fortified for improved adhesion.

* Stability: This product has outstanding stability and resists softening even in conditions where watch contamination is present and is highly resistant to water in conditions where rain or road splash are present.

* Grease compatibility: OverDrive HD is formulated with a proprietary Lithium Complex thickener systems that is compatible with many other greases currently on the market.

OverDrive HD Grease can be used in wheel bearings requiring a high temperature grease, asphalt plant drum trunnion bearings, asphalt paver auger bearings and other high temperature applications.
