J J. Keller & Associates announced $6 E-Logs. With CSA 2010 looming and a stricter EOBR mandate on the way from the FMCSA, Keller says, this E-Log solution will help carriers of all sizes manage hours-of-service compliance.

Since 1953, J. J. Keller has provided log books, HOS training, auditing services, and more, notes James J. Keller, president and chief operating officer. "What was once a cost prohibitive solution for small- and mid-sized fleets is now a reality."

The $6 E-Logs, powered by J. J. Keller's Encompass, are priced per driver per month and require a one-time purchase of an onboard recorder for $199. Once data is captured, J. J. Keller Encompass audits all of a company's driver logs, providing them with online reporting and compliance information that can immediately improve their operation.

During a live poll of nearly 1,000 transportation professionals by J.J. Keller, over 40 percent of respondents said that cost is the main reason that they are not using electronic logs.

"Based on a cost-benefit analysis, the FMCSA estimates the safety benefits of EOBRs to be about $890 per year per power unit," says Daren Hansen, transportation safety editor at J. J. Keller. "These safety benefits are based on preventing about half of the hours-of-service violations, so they think EOBRs will help prevent about 50 percent of the violations at these carriers, not all of them."

J.J. Keller will be hosting a webcast, The New EOBR Rule and Effective Hours of Service Management, on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 1:00PM Central Time. To register for this event, visit www2.gotomeeting.com/register/700407338.
