Qualcomm Enterprise Services has unveiled its new Trailer Tracks 210, the successor to its Trailer Tracks 200 untethered trailer management solution. The company also announced it will offer StarTrak's ReeferTrak system for refrigerated transport
to Qualcomm customers.

The new trailer tracking system, which will be available in the first quarter of 2011, features more memory and processing power, embedded solar power, a more compact design and Bluetooth capability. The TT210 has also been designed to provide superior coverage in Mexico.

Both the TT210 and TT200 leverage the same Trailer Tracks host environment, so customers using either or both platforms will benefit from future host development and will manage their trailer assets from a single Web portal. Both TT210 and TT200 can operate within a single fleet.

"We are pleased to introduce Trailer Tracks 210, our next-generation solution for carriers to improve their bottom line through asset management and visibility," said Jeff Griswold, senior product manager for Qualcomm Enterprise Services. "With simplified installation, embedded solar power, improved memory and processing power, and Bluetooth technology, TT210 delivers enhanced capabilities to the transportation and logistics industry."

Separately, QES will offer the ReeferTrak system through a partnership with StarTrak Systems, a subsidiary of Alanco Technologies. ReeferTrak provides for cold chain management and is designed to meet the needs of refrigerated transport companies. Using the system, carriers will be able to remotely control and proactively monitor and manage their reefer assets.

Fleets can track and locate their reefer assets, monitor and control fuel consumption, and remotely control the reefer's operation with capabilities, such as start and stop, change set point, and initiate a defrost. They can also remotely monitor reefer operation conditions for alarms, temperatures and set points.

"Qualcomm is pleased to collaborate with StarTrak Systems to deliver the benefits of refrigerated asset management to our customers," said Norm Ellis, vice president of sales, services and marketing for QES. "The StarTrak solution complements Qualcomm's portfolio of fleet management platforms and helps assure carriers and shippers that refrigerated freight is delivered properly and operating costs are controlled across the supply chain."
