Grote Industries' new version of its Trilliant 36 LED WhiteLight Conversion Bulb is designed to operate in adverse conditions where sodium chloride, high humidity and other corrosive elements wreak havoc on most Parabolic Aluminized Reflector (PAR) 36 incandescent work lamps.

The conversion bulb turns any incandescent lamp into an LED WhiteLight Lamp. PAR 36 bulbs are used in common worklights, forklifts and many kinds of work trucks, including tow, service and public utility vehicles. Grote expects the lamp to be useful for those engaged in salt spreading, bulk transporting, as well as food and chemical processing.

"Under some conditions, PAR 36 incandescent work lamp bulbs don't burn out, but fail prematurely, due to corrosion," said Scott Robertson, product manager of LED WhiteLight for Grote Industries. "Incandescent bulbs are inefficient at best, but our field research has clearly shown that these corrosion-based failures are costing end-users time, money and productivity."

The new design will be sold in addition to the original model and includes a more robust, sealed, Packard Metripack 150 connector that resists moisture and chemical intrusion, Grote says.

Both versions easily snap into any standard PAR 36 housing. The bulb allows users to upgrade an existing incandescent or halogen lamp into a 900-lumen LED WhiteLight lamp that lasts longer, shines brighter and delivers beam evenness, color temperature and contrast like sunlight, Grote says.

All Trilliant 36 LED WhiteLight Conversion Bulbs are manufactured with rugged UV, hard-coated, polycarbonate lenses that can be replaced if damaged. The lenses are easily interchanged.

The new bulb is rated for a service life of 40,000 hours, requires half the power and will provide users with 100 times the lifespan of a traditional PAR 36 bulb, the company says.

"This new moisture- and chemical-resistant terminal enhances just one of the six most technologically advanced, highest performing and most diverse lines of LED work lamps in the industry," Robertson said.
