ConocoPhillips has introduced a new premium low ash natural gas engine oil, 76 Lubricants Triton 5005EXD, formulated to meet the increased performance demands of today's high-output natural gas engines.

"At ConocoPhillips Lubricants, we understand the challenges of keeping natural gas engines operating at peak condition under the most demanding circumstances," said Reginald Dias, director, commercial products, ConocoPhillips. "Operators who use our new 76 Lubricants Triton 5005EXD formulation stand to benefit from enhancements in wear reduction, engine parts cleanliness, valve recession control and ability for extending oil drain service."

The 76 Lubricants Triton 5005EXD is a low ash dispersant-detergent gas engine oil designed for use in four-stroke cycle engines fueled by natural gas or LPG. It includes high-quality group II base stocks and a field-proven performance additive, which the company says will provide excellent engine cleanliness, deposits control, and wear and corrosion reduction. The new technology also provides for extended oil drain service. The new low ash technology helps to protect emissions control devices such as catalytic converters and exhaust aftertreatment from fouling from high ash or catalyst poisons.

"Our customers will appreciate our new premium low ash gas engine oil 76 Lubricants Triton 5005EXD because it builds on the already proven performance and heritage of the previous offering, 76 TRITON 5005," said Dias. "Most notably, this new premium and mainline natural gas engine oil will keep critical components free from sludge and deposits, prevent deterioration of valves and help to reduce maintenance costs."
