Software development firm Applicandy has launched a new application for the iPhone and iPod touch, aimed at helping truck drivers track revenue, monitor deadhead miles, and manage hours of service more efficiently.

iLogMiles is a daily log book application that can track duty status records, mileage, and revenue. The application can also generate motor vehicle inspections and up to five analytics reports. Over 15,000 U.S. cities are pre-loaded into the application. iLogMiles automatically adjusts for daylight savings with the "home office" time zone, as selected by the motor carrier. In addition, users can export a PDF template of the driver's daily log, export motor vehicle inspections, and run unlimited analytics reports.

"The analytics feature calculates how revenue is earned based on time, miles, and completed loads, enabling you to make more informed decisions about your business," said Bryan Hinton, co-founder of Applicandy.

The application also includes themes.

"We wanted to turn an otherwise monotonous task into a fun experience," said Zach Womack, co-founder. "To accomplish this, we incorporated customized themes to cater to individual personalities, along with a user interface designed to look, feel, and sound like a truck."

According to Womack, the app comes complete with sound effects.

The application can be downloaded from Apple's App Store.
