Dometic Group has added a low-power bunk cooler to its line of engine-off battery-powered auxiliary air conditioning products.
Driven by a 12-volt Danfoss compressor, the new SP-900 produces 3,100 Btus per hour of capacity.

The split system consists of a condensing unit that mounts on the rear of the cab and an evaporator unit that mounts above the bunk or seat. The two units are connected by pre-charged refrigerant linesets. All components are hermetically sealed, and no refrigerant charging is needed at installation.

The inside unit has four separate discharge air vents that can be adjusted as needed to optimize airflow in any direction. A digital thermostat and keypad provide intuitive control over all system functions.

"We are introducing this product to offer a low-cost alternative for truckers who only want to cool the bunk without air conditioning the entire sleeper compartment," said Lou Siegel, senior vice president of Dometic Group's trucking business unit.
