Ventech USA has developed Pneuscan, a system for reading tire pressure and tread wear by driving over a sensor plate.
Pneuscan uses sensor technology to read the footprint of each tire that contains information about the load, profile and pattern of the tire.

The system, which requires no vehicle modification, stores the information captured with tire pressure measurements to provide fleets with an ongoing maintenance log. This information can be integrated into existing fleet management systems for better management, tire purchases, historical data or location-wide networking, Ventech says. In addition, exception reports are created, providing maintenance teams with a clear idea of where the problems are.

"Our system installs easily in just about any vehicle environment, and will work with anything moving on wheels-from heavy-duty over the road vehicles to local delivery vehicles in all weight classifications," said Kevin Krause, an executive at Ventech. "We have a ready-made solution for companies seeking to trim their fuel and tire replacement costs without the cumbersome and often inaccurate task of checking each tire manually or the alternative expense associated with the use of tire pressure monitoring systems."

Ventech USA is a Georgia-based subsidiary of Ventech GmbH, founded in Germany in 2006.
