Aftermarket distributors can purchase Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems' SmarTire Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems at a discounted price when buying multiple kits
SmarTire reads pressure and temperature information from inside the tire and communicates wirelessly to an on-board receiver, which forwards the information to a two-inch display installed on the vehicle dash.. Bendix CVS is offering the discount during the first quarter of 2010 through March 31.
SmarTire monitors the pressure and temperature of each tire on a commercial vehicle to provide real-time tire status information to the driver or maintenance technician. It also warns the driver of tire-related problems before they become dangerous.
"Bendix is always looking for ways to help our aftermarket channel partners bolster their business," said Fred Andersky, Bendix director of marketing for controls. "Tires, when not properly inflated, can significantly increase annual costs for fuel and tire wear and tear. The SmarTire system is easily retrofitted for almost any commercial vehicle, allowing our distributors' customers to start improving ROI immediately."
