Thermo King's New Temperature Control System For Small Trucks

Thermo King has released a new vehicle-powered temperature control system for small trucks.

The V-520 features the new Direct Smart Reefer controller, the latest microprocessor control for direct-drive systems.

The Direct Smart Reefer controller features:

* Continuous monitoring of the load
* Automatic startup
* Three standard hour meters
* Alarm codes for quick diagnostics and reduced costs
* Maintenance reminders
* Upgradeable software
* Battery protection features
* Clutch delay timer
* New voltage options (24-volt and 12-volt)

The V-520 also features SmartPower electric standby, which allows for fuel and emissions savings, as well as improved capacity and airflow, and pull-down capability.

"The V-520 builds on the strong Thermo King vehicle-powered refrigeration tradition and adds needed features for today's demanding applications," said Scott Bates, truck product manager for Thermo King. "The V-520 is suitable for box sizes from 10 to 18 feet and is exempt from the CARB TRU regulation."
