Navteq has made changes to its Navteq Transport coverage to include the major highway network across the entire country of Canada.

Navteq Transport is a set of navigable attributes included in the Navteq Map specifically designed for trucks and large vehicles, including restrictions such as height and weight, warnings, Hazmat information and points of interest.

Navteq collects up to 260 attributes for its map, including Advanced Driver Assistance System attributes. When such attributes are used in either adaptive cruise control systems or in-cab navigation devices, it can lead to significant fuel savings, the company says. ADAS attributes that can affect savings include slope and height data, traffic signals, railroad crossings and intersections.

In Canada all Navteq Transport content for the major highways has been verified.
