Cole Hersee's new SureStart Low Voltage Disconnect Switch electronically senses battery voltage and disconnects non-critical loads to extend battery life.
This switch is designed to conserve battery power on utility and delivery vehicles, as well as on vehicles with in-cab amenities such as air conditioning. According to the Boston-based company, the switch can help save costs associated with downtime, vehicle recovery and battery damage.
With a rating of 100A at 12-volt or 24-volt DC, the service life is greater one million on/off cycles. A manual override feature allows users to connect or disconnect the switch when needed, regardless of voltage.
The switch does not require a separate solenoid to control high current, and it's built to resist moisture, salt spray, vibration and shock.
