The period between oil changes can be as high as 30,000 miles with SOMS Technologies' new microGreen Extended Performance Oil Filter
, the company says.
While the filter is installed in the same way as traditional oil filters, the microGreen filter is a spin-on filter. It captures particles as small as two microns in size, while traditional filters can capture between 25 to 30 microns. This process cleans the oil more effectively, SOMS says.
According to the company, the filter cuts oil maintenance costs by 65 percent, reduces the use of motor oil by 70 percent, and lowers the number of filter changes by 50 percent.
"The automotive market has not seen a material advancement in oil filter technology since the early 1970s," said Miles Flamenbaum, CEO of SOMS Technologies. "By bringing this clean technology to the market, we are confident that we will change the behavior of fleet operators and individuals alike."
