Kenworth has released the T470 Body Builder Manual to give guidance on body builder installations on the new T470 truck model
. The Kenworth T470, which recently went into production, is for snowplow, dump, mixer, winch, refuse, and other heavy front-axle vocational and municipal applications.

The manual provides detailed information on vehicle dimensions, ride heights, suspension layouts, ground and power take-off clearances, and frame layouts available for the T470. The resource includes sections on safety and compliance, dimensions, body mounting, frame modifications, electrical system and routings.

The new model's 9-liter Cummins ISL engine allows for 345 horsepower and 1,150 pounds-feet of torque. It can be ordered with a range of manual and automatic transmissions and includes 12,000- to 22,000 pound-rated front axles, 21,000- to 26,000 pound-rated single rear axles and 40,000- to 46,000-pound-rated tandem rear axles.

According to Kenworth, the 100-page manual can help when spec'ing a vehicle, especially when the body builder is involved in the vehicle definition and ordering process.
