A new web site created by Affinia Global Brake & Chassis provides information on the potential safety risks associated with a class of lighter and thinner brake rotors that don't meet OE specifications.

As part of Affinia's Public Awareness Program, the new site features news, expert advice and commentary on "lightweight" or "thin-wall" brake rotors. The company hopes the new site will help brake specialists to develop best practices. The site is also meant to educate motorists on solving their brake problems.

According to Affinia, the site is not meant to market Affinia products.
