Mobileye has launched a new driver-safety system designed for aftermarket applications in passenger and fleet vehicles
. The C2-170 is a single camera-based safety system to help prevent accidents.
The new system uses "EyeWatch1," a visual sensor unit that mounts to a high visibility windshield or dash. The C2-170 is more compact, with a clearer, more powerful display.
The C2-170 unit warns drivers against collision with a vehicle ahead and alerts drivers to unintended land changes and insufficient distance between vehicles. The system can reduce the occurrence of accidents and related costs, while improving safety habits such as turn signals, breaking patterns and headway keeping, the company says.
