Green Gas Laboratories has added the microGreen Extended Performance Oil filter to its EcoSmart Lube green fleet conversion business
. The EcoSmart fleet conversion process, marketed under the name Smartfleet Solutions, makes vehicles more fuel efficient and eco-friendly, while reducing the expense and time involved in changing the oil.

"Especially in today's economic environment, a new program like EcoSmart Lube is very helpful," said Al Grabowski, owner of First Class Pest Solutions. "It reduces the cost of operating our fleet and helps protect our environment. Both are key strategic initiatives for our fleet."

The program will now involve converting the vehicle's existing oil filter with the new microGreen filter, developed by SOMS Technologies. According to the company, the filter cuts oil maintenance costs by 65 percent, reduces the use of motor oil by 70 percent, and lowers the number of filter changes by 50 percent.

While the filter is installed in the same way as traditional oil filters, the microGreen filter is a spin-on filter. It captures particles as small as two microns in size, while traditional filters can capture between 25 to 30 microns.

The new conversion program also involves switching to a higher quality pure synthetic oil, a bio-degradable cooling system service, a nitrogen tire fill, and a fuel and emissions system check using an OBD II connector scan tool.

"In short time we have performed EcoSmart Lube conversions on vehicles throughout the state of Florida," said Kevin Heath, owner and manager of Green Gas Laboratories. "City and county fleet managers who are under tight budget constraints have been very receptive to our program as well as local automotive repair shops."
